Learning to code is not easy! If it was we would all be developers making good money working for Netflix and have UNLIMITED vacation days. While learning to code is not easy it can be made easier. This coding bootcamp attempts to do just that! I have decided to help career changers think and learn like a developer. This is my version of a book on 'how to become a developer'. And guess what? It's interactive!
Apply TodayYou will not only learn how to create web applications like a simple social network site but you will learn it with the technologies and tech stacks that employers want! There are no books, slides or a rigid curriculum. Instead you will learn the way most developers learn...using the web and a more 'senior' developer to guide you!
Download Class SyllabusHi I am Avan. I a software developer, coding tutor, mentor and teacher. I have a computer science degree, went through a paid coding bootcamp and worked as a Java developer for about 2 years. I consider myself a 'senior' entry-level developer. I am also an idealist, amateur Fifa player, Formula 1 fan (Go Ricciardo!), rookie YouTuber, , and professional dreamer.
More InfoWe code to impress. You will create portfolio ready items that you can show off to employers. I will even offer a free monthly career meeting to go over your resume, GitHub (a locker for your code), and online presence.
No woman will be left behind. The coding bootcamp is meant for people who have never coded before and based on the philosohphy that we are only as strong as our most 'struggling' student. Either we succeed as a group of we don't succeed at all.
"I graduated from a software engineering bootcamp which was great, but since it was my first time learning coding, it was difficult to remember all the terms and really grasp everything since it was so quick. Taking Avan’s bootcamp was AMAZING because he never judged and never made me feel like I asked a “stupid” question. He was super patient with all of us and definitely explained everything in a way that was simple for us to learn. He provided great examples of everything he taught us and never left us hanging if we had questions. He also didn’t give us the answer, he would help us reach the answer, which for me is the best way to learn!! Loved this and would definitely take the bootcamp again!!"
"Great at teaching such a broad range of both front-end and back-end development topics in a very simplified and easy-to-follow way. I highly recommend the cohort but only if you have the time to devote to it—a lot of material is covered in just a few months."
"I have been attempting to learn programming for years on and off. After going through FCB I am so happy I made the decision to invest the time with the cohort. The format was informal but effective at exposing the class to new concepts and ultimately creating projects with what we were learning. Going from complete beginner was challenging and there were days I felt completely lost but the constant practice and ability to have peers and Avan as a resource was invaluable."
* FCB (Free Coding Bootcamp) was the name of my bootcamp before I changed it to Avan's Class"Avan is a great tutor and teacher if you want someone to be available to give you in depth 1 on 1 knowledge. Other places will teach you how to do things and push you through but might not actually stop to make sure you truly understand why you do something. That’s what is different about Avan. He takes the time to make sure you fully comprehend the material and he’s always there for you to guide you every step of the way. Avan sincerely cares about his students and his passion for teaching really shows. Don’t ever be afraid to ask a “stupid” question. He’s very patient and kind and his number one priority is to see you succeed. Even when bugs are not obviously solved at the moment, Avan will take the time to figure it out with you together. I give my full recommendation!"
Job prospects for web developers should continue to be favorable through to 2024 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. There were 148,500 positions in 2014. This figure should grow by 27% by 2024 to about 188,000 positions. This growth rate is higher than other computer occupations, which is 12%. And when looking at all jobs across the U.S., the figure is only 7%. All of this considered, it is very lucrative to be a web developer.
The process is incredibly simple.
Coding bootcamps are sort like podcasts. In the sense that there seems to be a google amount of them! So how do you pick which one to choose? I personally like a bootcamp that helps you achieve your most important goals. For most that is learnig to code & getting hired as a professional developer!
I will help you understand hard to understand concepts in the simplest way possible. Most other coding bootcamps are designed to make you look like a developer rather than actually helping you undestand what you just copied and pasted. I know because I have gone through one myself. I will use what I have learned from my experience going through a notable coding bootcamp and apply the good while eliminating the 'bad'.
Going through my coding bootcamp you can learn in-demand web-development skills for well...one tenth of what most other premium coding bootcamps are charging while offering 10x the support. I will not only be your teacher. I will be your mentor.
Additionally, this bootcamp is nothing like any other bootcamp or coding class out there. It feels more like a one-on-one tutoring session than a class. It's very personal, the small co-hort size helps with that, and most teaching is just practical rather than theoretical. I apply a do first learn later approach. There are no slides or books, just a more 'senior' developer (me) with a Computer Science degree and has real world web development experience.
But most importantly I love to teach and I take your success personal. I genuinley desire that you to understand and can apply complex coding concepts. I just ask that you come in with genuine intentions of becoming a developer and give it your all! Without that I am afraid no teacher can help you.
Apply TodayThe next Co-Hort starts March 1st, 2021! Don't miss out.
Each Bootcamp is 9-16 Weeks Long (Goal is 12 Weeks)
Yes! It's 12-weeks long and we would meet daily at 6 PM
Pacific time. However you would only be Learning
the fundamentals of web-development so no react, node,
databases's etc. The cost is $3,999 $749
For the full-time program we would meet daily for an hour each time at 9 AM, 12 PM and 3 PM. So three seperate times per day.
This is a 100% online bootcamp. No in-person attendance will be required.
Absolutley not. If that was the case there would be little difference between this program and any online web-development course.
It's important that this bootcamp sticks to live sessions.
This bootcamp like the name suggests is demanding and will require a MAJOR time commitment. Do not apply if you cannot put in the time! There will be daily (Monday-Friday) three one hour live sessions. However you are expected to put in AT LEAST three addidtional hours per day on your own. Obviously, the more time you put in the better results you can expect coming out of this bootcamp.
There is no pass or fail per se. However I am afraid you won't be able to continue the program if you don't attend at least 80% of the live sessions on time or don't complete at least 80% of the course work.
We will go over the follwong topics:
Absolutley! Feel free to schedule a free intro session with me. CLICK HERE to do so now.
Previous classes went relatively well. Some people dropped out early because they didn't realize how time demanding this bootcamp truly is. Don't make the same mistake. This coding bootcamp will take up a big chunk of your time! Also, I recommend checking out a preview of the bootcamp before you apply! Coding Bootcamp Preview
I am afraid at this point the coding bootcamp is only available in the U.S. and Canada. Once I can make the bootcamp work in North America I am open to opening it up to other countries.
